We have millions of people being born everyday and at the same dieing everyday"

You are inferring that humans leave behind ~10 lbs of bone when they die. Where did the materials that form the bone come from? You seem to be suggesting that they appear out of thin air when children are created.

Alright people, I've been too lazy to give a thorough answer as of yet, but here you go:

The first thing I have to address is the nature of the question. When someone asks for the "weight" of an object we have to know 3 different values to give an answer. We need to have a larger mass generating a gravitational field with which to compare the mass of the Earth and the distance between their centers of mass.

I am therefore assuming that the OP meant to say the mass (amount of matter) of the Earth when he posted the question.

As many of you have said, matter cannot be created or destroyed. Most of the matter on and in Earth today is the same matter that was on or in Earth a billion years ago. It is constantly changing, being transformed, and otherwise altered, however the net amount remains the same. What most of you seem to be forgetting, however, is that the Earth is bombarded by debris and energy (from the sun and otherwise which has a small mass equivalent E=mc²) from space that the Earth retains. When compared to the energy emitted by the Earth and the matter sent out into space, the latter is obviously minuscule. I therefore have no doubt in mind that the Earth contains more mass, and therefore would "weigh" more today when compared to a massive object like the sun than it did when the modern Earth was first formed.

Now that is a Post that deserves Thanks for your devotion and effort Smile. We need more answers like yours

well,if you take into consideration that the earth in this infinite universe is weightless..
common sense tells us it(earth) should weigh a WHOLE lot more due to population explosion of humanity..more people=more poop:p lol

raw materials extracted from earth used to construct buildings and what have you don't count cos' ermm, they were there in the first place to begin with.:dunce::whistle:

Read previous posts before you reply. At least 5 people have stated that matter isn't created, it is simply transformed.

In Flames Much?
Guess it about the same

Give or take could be a bit more depends on how much material enters into the earth. As the earth is a closed system this could be a tiny amount or void.
