so the question is how do i connect it if i dont use those cables and only use an hdmi cable

u cant, u need those cables to actually hear the gameblay...unless you only want to use the px21s as a mic, but there would be no point in that

You can't use only the HDMI cable I don't think. But if all you want is to have HDMI quality on with your Turtle Beaches, what you need to do is take the AV cables the TB's came with and the ones the PS3 came up with, and take the TB's AV's and plug in the red and white in the back of your TV but not the yellow then plug the PS3's AV's Red and white in the back of those. So then you will have Video coming through the HDMI and audio coming through the AV's. Then on your PS3 go to Accessory settings and click on Audio device settings and choose the Turtle Beaches. Then scroll down to Sound Settings and click on the first option and then find the Turtle Beach thingy and put a check mark on it, and if you want sound to come through your TV and your Turtle Beaches click on Multi Output. I have the same headset and what I did, is plugging to audio in the component SCART, and then set the audio output parameter to SCART. Problem solved.

figured it out i have a headphone output on my tv so i used the headphone input on the headset and the usb to the ps3 and now it does everything it needs without the other cables...yeah me lol
