(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); A Boston cat has been summoned for jury duty. That’s right, cat jury duty! Who knew! I’m thinking he’ll probably get picked for a jury since jurors are often picked for their lack of opinion on anything. Then again, most cats are pretty opinionated. Read about it below and see a video.

What to do when you cat has been called for jury duty!! Seems out of the question doesn’t it? But it’s not. At least not for Guy and Anna Esposito whose cat got a summons to appear for jury duty. The Boston family is trying to figure out what to do about it now.

The cat’s name is ‘Sal’ and his owner, Guy Esposito, said he thinks the mix-up happened because Sal was listed on the last Census form as a member of the family. His other owner, Guy’s wife, Anna Esposito, listed Sal under ‘pets’ on the Census. So now, Sal has been called up for jury duty. She said she wrote ‘Sal’ on the form, scrated out ‘dog’ and wrote ‘cat’ on the form.

Anna has filed for Sal to be disqualified for service. However, the jury commissioner was not moved by her request and denied the disqualification. So, as it stands now, Sal is due to report for jury duty at the Suffolk Superior Court on March 23, 2010. Anna says that if she can’t get the issue cleared up, then she will take the cat to court to report for duty.

I would love to be in that jury room when she shows up with the cat for jury duty! Then again, will he be disqualified if it’s a cat burglary case? At least the Espositos can rest assured that if Sal has to serve jury duty he’ll get his fee, which will hopefully help pay for his cat food.

So what do you think about the cat jury duty case?
