After the recent split of Infinity Ward and it's former leaders, It has emerged that Former Infinity Ward boss Vince Zampella purposefully conspired against Avtivison by delaying the realese of the Modern Warfare 2 map pack until after the release of Electronic Art's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Map packs, court documents made public today suggest this.

An internal email regarding Modern Warfare 2's Stimulus Pack written by EA executive Lincoln Hershberger and included in a court filing by Activision reads:

"A couple months ago, I asked Vince to hold back their map pack until after we launched (he owes me one). Given that they've already made a billion, he was cool with that, obviously (Activision CEO) Kotick took it as being belligerent."

EA spokesman Jeff Brown has since said that the email was written in jest.

"This was obviously sarcasm. It's clear from the email this was a joke and they never spoke. We explained this to lawyers at Activision – who apparently don't have much of a sense of humor."

The email had previously been redacted by the court along with a sentence that read "Activision is informed and believes that to protect its weaker BFBC series, EA secretly schemed with West and Zampella to bolster sales of BFBC at the expense of Call of Duty."

Activision requested last month to add EA to its legal action against West and Zampella. It's asking for $400 million, claiming EA attempted to lure the pair away while they were still under contract to the Call of Duty publisher.

Zampella and West were fired by Activision in March, with their former bosses at the publisher alleging they were "insubordinate and self-serving schemers who attempted to hijack Activision's assets for their own personal gain."

The pair then launched a legal action, claiming Activision had withheld royalties owed to them for their work on the Call of Duty franchise.

In April, EA announced it had signed a multi-game deal with Zampella and West's new outfit, Respawn Entertainment.

So, Do think Zampella and West deserve this or not?

Of course I read the article, Why do you think i posted it? ¬¬ Actually They don't deserve it, The only reason for why the Call of Duty Franchise is well known is because of Call of Duty 4 (Commercially). This if you didn't know is a game developed by infinity ward, while of course Zampella and West were heads of infinity ward. If you have a look at What they have done for Activison and how they are being treated by them, You wouldn't be saying that.

You don't know what you're talking about. Zampella and West were laid off from Infinity Ward, you following me? What reason did Activision have for laying them off, it's because they were self serving sabotaging dicks who were more interested in what EA had to offer. Also they wanted to delay MW3 because they didn't want to develop games under a 2 year time schedule because they're lazy. breach of contract= they shouldn't receive royalties.

Well, either way, I wouldn't be surprised...

If they are against activison im with them.

It has become more apparent over time that activision was justified in terminating Zampella and West.
Both have shown clear evidence that they were only concerned with personal gain, even at substantial financial loss to their fellow employees.
They were both too immature to function in a corporate environment and EA will likely be keeping them on a tight leash.
This experience has probably made them grow up and EA has gotten a couple great designers, but they work in a multi billion dollar industry and no corporation is going to tolerate the bullshit they pulled at IW.

Game design and distribution is not what it was when these 2 started and they know that now.
