A 16 year old boy shot his 12 year old brother in the face earlier this week during an argument over a video game in Bellevue, WA.

According to the police, while the pair wrestled over the dispute, the older brother pulled a gun in an attempt to scare his younger sibling. Unfortunately he did more than frighten him. A bullet hit the youth in the mouth at about 7:30pm local time Monday and he was taken to a local hospital by his mother and sister. He was in a serious but not critical condition, KOMO-TV reported.

The 16-year-old, who admitted being part of a gang, obtained the gun illegally last year for protection and status, police told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

The teenager was taken into police custody and is due to face court Wednesday on attempted manslaughter charges. There is no information about which game they were arguing over, but needless to say, if that information gets out the various parental groups and shock news outlets will have a field day blaming it for what is clearly a completely unrelated accident. Brace yourselves.
