Residents in Queensland have begun to clear up following a huge storm that struck the north east of Australia on Wednesday.
The cyclone that hit Queensland and other surrounding areas has shocked people around the globe, the cyclone itself has been one of the biggest in the past decade.
Fortunately it didn't harm and do as much damage as scientists thought it would, the cyclone hit winds up to 186 miles per hour at its core. 1 cyclone death has been confirmed and only 24 injuries.
The federal government has deployed over 3,000 troops to the region as the clean up starts today, Queensland has suffered with floods sweeping across it and other eastern states in recent months, killing 35 people and causing damage estimated over 1 billion dollars.
The members here at NGU have our thoughts with the families who have lost somebody at this time and we would like to thank the public volunteers who are helping with this mass clean up.
