I've stayed silent far too long.

I know I'm going to get hated on by all the users of low intelligence for this but here goes:

Little Wayne is a fake ass, auto-using, disgraceful anti-artist. Nothing he produces should EVER be considered art, it's barely even music. Real hip hop is poetic. Real hip hop takes a heavy grasp on the english language and word play. You have to be skilled at writing techniques such as alliteration, metaphors, and similes. It takes rhythm and creativity. It's takes originality. You can relay a whole book into a hiphop album. That's hard to say w/ any other genre. I would venture to say that that the only hip-hop you know is commercialized....

"Rap" (I don't even know what to call it) as we know it is in a terrible state, artists like Young Money/Wayne/Soulja/Drake/Puffy are simply bringing it down even further. Whatever happened to the creativity that we once witnessed in the mid 80s-90s? Rakim, Nas, Ice Cube, Pac, Biggie? Wu-Tang clan? What happened to the mainstream? What happened to our youth? This "radio" music is simply polluting and diluting the minds of its listeners. I'm ****ing tired of hearing poorly written lyrics about bitches, jewelry, cars, money and all the other materialistic and obscene shit that is ever-so present in music today, so I simply don't listen.

There are a couple good artists out there still, trying to keep hip-hop alive, but most of them are underground and their message will never reach the ears of the mainstream. I suppose it is better that way...
