These kinds of things mean a lot to me. And you have pointed out very good points.

i'd be happy to clear that one up. It's going to take some open minded thinking, but here goes:

our mind's are what we have in existence. our minds interpret vision, memories, language, everything. If your mind wasn't relaying correct information, then everything you experience is in essence wrong. If your mind can be proven to misinterpret even one thing, that means everything is open for misinterpretation. Everything we experience, we have experience because our minds have told us we have experienced it. We can't be 100% sure that information is accurate.

The easiest way to illustrate this is with an optical illusion.

Sounds like exactly what I believe.
God might be real, but why would someone want to focus on what happens after they die? Even if he is real then why isn't he helping the children in Africa or why did let all those people die in the holocaust? Is it he has some sick kind of humor or is he just not real?
I don't mind either way but it annoys me that people can just blindly believe this and then try to force their religion down other peoples throats.
