(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So at school my friends kept talking about 2012 so i got really nervous and went home and prayed lol. But when i googled 2012 i was re-leaved.

The Mayan calendar started something called The Long Count. It started August 11, 3114 BC. It is 1,872,000 days long, which sets up the ending date on December 21, 2012.
Many people think the world will end, but it could just be another scare. I'm a bit skeptical, myself. I think something devastating will happen on that date, but it won't be the end... maybe World War III will start, who knows?
Now the reason they Mayan Calendar is set to expire on that particular date is because of an elliptical alignment. It is on that very date that the Earth is in alignment with the sun, the Milky Way Centre, and Galactic Equator, while reaching the winter solstice. Depending on what source you believe, this is also the same date the Earth's processional age changes from Pisces to Aquarius. The average procession takes 2, 600 years to occur, making the alignment all the more rare. An alignment like this is so rare it takes more than several hundred lifetimes for this to happen.
Nobody knows what'll happen at the precise moment of alignment. Some say a polar shift, others thing the world will become unstable triggering an eruption of the super volcano underneath Yellowstone National Park or maybe the Earth will fall out of axis around the sun. It could be none or all of these things. Nobody knows.
But that's the basic story of December 21, 20012.
You'll get a much better explanation be going to the link below. It really cleared things up for me when I wondered this very same question. It also offers pictures to support the claim!

What happens when a calender ends? It rolls over to the next month, year, etc.
Saying "The Earth will fall out of axis around the Sun," just makes it more increditable.

WWIII might actually do America some good, if Obama pulls a Truman & just decides to nuke the enemy.

It is really no different than 11/11/11.
It doesn't even look as good.
It's a date, there have been several of them over the last 10,000 yrs.

Actually, there is no Heaven, and no Hell. And if you pray for "good" then who do you expect to answer that? If you don't believe in god then what's your point in praying
