For those of you who don't already know how to do this, I'm going to show you how to make your research paper 1/2 paper or longer while still using MLA format.

Instructions

Open your paper in Microsoft Word. Since you are using MLA format, your font should be Times New Roman with 12 point font.

With that in mind we are going to change font size, but she won't be able to notice because we are only going to change the periods in your paper.

Now, do not highlight anything, and go to your toolbar. Now click "Edit" and then "Replace"

• This brings up the find and replace box and you are going to put a "."(period) in both input boxes.
  

• After you have done this click "More" then it will drop down and then highlight your bottom "." and click "Format" and then "Font".
  

• Now you just select 14 for the font size and click "Ok"
  

• Now you will be back to the orignal box and you need to click "Replace All".
  

This method makes your paper significantly longer and will help you meet those minimum requirements.

Also, it's not the length of the paper, it's the quality that matters. I know they tell you to meet a certain word or page # requirement is high school, but that's bullshit. Once you get to college, you will find out.

A person can write a 5 page essay, and another can write a 2 page essay, both on the same topic. It's just the way you make your thoughts clear. You can say a lot with a little.
