Look at the bottom of the image and the windows media player bar at the bottom had changed from the normal one, to that.

I dont know how I did it.

Also is there a way to install an OS without loosing all data without backing it up. Just wondering on this one.

That looks like an older version... and you didn't downgrade, so I have no clue how it must have happened. Maybe you changed the skin for the media player? Try setting it back to default.

As far as the OS goes..

or try changing skin

1.

Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Media Player.

If the Player is currently open and you’re in Now Playing mode, click the Switch to Library button Picture of the Switch to Library button in the upper-right corner of the Player.
2.

Click the View menu, and then click Skin Chooser.

If the View menu isn't visible, you'll need to show the menu bar by clicking Organize, pointing to Layout, and then selecting Show menu bar.
3.

In the left pane, click the skin that you want to apply. A preview of the skin appears in the right pane.
4.

Click Apply Skin.
5.

To return to the Player Library from a skin, right-click anywhere on the Player, and then click Switch to Library.
