Trittons microphone breaks alot and VERY often but they give u like 5 mics if it breaks i think because its a madcatz product

A40's are definitely better than the 720's, but I hear the AX Pro's from Tritton have better sound quality than A40's.

Dude, I just today got the A40 (arrived like 6 hours ago)
and I have to say that these are well worth it
besides Trittons are a MadCatz product have you ever seen a MC product?

if you're wise you'll INVEST in a item that lasts, sounds great and improves your game

Sound quality is the same for the most part, however Astros are more durable and last for much longer(thus the extra $100 you have to pay). Unless you're a complete audiophile Trittons will do the job just as well.

I was strongly considering buying A40s and a couple days ago I was minutes from actually ordering them, but after looking into other headsets I'm starting to re-think it.

I think ^^he put it the best, unless your extremely picky you will not notice the difference between ASTROS & TRITTONS. I own a pair of AX PRO'S and I wouldn't change them for the world, both astros and trittons are 5.1 true surround if you choose another pair read carefully because unless you get the new TB all others are "SIMULATED SURROUND" for the difference in money TRUST ME get the AX PRO'S. :dingding:

Even my dog uses AX PRO'S...lol
