I have been searching the internet and there seems to be a lot of online gaming platforms. However predominantly my searches lead to three main platforms:

Steam (PC ONLY)
Xbox Live
PSN

but which is your favourite

I'd have to say Steam is my favorite, although I spend more time on PSN. Steam is free but has many of the same features as XBL. Any games that you'd play on Steam you can download straight from the client. It also has various deals and offers that can't be found anywhere else.

Gotta say Steam. They know how to run a platform that pleases both devs and gamers.

I have both consoles and prefer Xbox live. Just seems to "work" better. Lots of features on the dashboard, videos, gaming tips and music. I'm downloading my first game from steam as we speak, I'll report back.

Steam is really a great gaming platform, but it does have some shortcomings such as the party chat feature being the worst quality I've ever heard for example. Xbox Live is great too imo, but it just doesn't seem that community driven and the deals of the week are really lackluster a lot of the time. Pretty equal to me between Steam & XBL.
