(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Japan was hit by one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded on Friday. The magnitude-8.9 quake spawned a deadly tsunami that slammed into the nation's east coast, leaving a huge swath of devastation in its wake. Hundreds of people are dead and many more are still missing or injured.

Japan has often donated when other countries have experienced disasters, such as when Hurricane Katrina impacted the United States. Below are organizations that are working on relief and recovery in the region.

AMERICAN RED CROSS: Emergency Operation Centers are opened in the affected areas and staffed by the chapters. This disaster is on a scale larger than the Japanese Red Cross can typically manage. Donations to the American Red Cross can be allocated for the International Disaster Relief Fund, which then deploys to the region to help. You must login or register to view this content.

GLOBALGIVING: Established a fund to disburse donations to organizations providing relief and emergency services to victims of the earthquake and tsunami. You must login or register to view this content.

SAVE THE CHILDREN: Mobilizing to provide immediate humanitarian relief in the shape of emergency health care and provision of non-food items and shelter. You must login or register to view this content.

SALVATION ARMY: The Salvation Army has been in Japan since 1895 and is currently providing emergency assistance to those in need. You must login or register to view this content.

AMERICARES: Emergency team is on full alert, mobilizing resources and dispatching an emergency response manager to the region. You must login or register to view this content.

CONVOY OF HOPE: Disaster Response team established connection with in-country partners who have been impacted by the damage and are identifying the needs and areas where Convoy of Hope may be of the greatest assistanceYou must login or register to view this content.

INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CORPS: Putting together relief teams, as well as supplies, and are in contact with partners in Japan and other affected countries to assess needs and coordinate our activities. You must login or register to view this content.

If "Bigger" Countries Don't Help Other "Smaller" Countries Choas Spreads, It Would Make Other Counties Wonder Why The "Bigger" Counties Ain't Helping, Countries Might Start To Think That America Is Against Japan And Any Other Country That Is In Danger. Its Alot Easier To Help Them, But I Do Agree We Need To Sort Out Our Own Country.

*This Is Just My Opinion And Thoughts Don't Take This The Wrong Way*

I like how so many Americans are worried about other countries, yet they don't seem to care about our country and how big of a hole its in right now.

I know. It also seems that if something happened in America, nobody would help. But Americans always help others.

If you are serious with that question, then sadly, you are a small minded fool, and I hope karma finds you mate.

That isn't true bro, alot of countries would help, Its just because Americans seem to be so proud (Thats good, dont get me wrong) and stubborn that they would rather refuse help, and solve it themselves. This is also true with Japan, I'd imagine, that the government will be swallowing thier tongues when accepting assistance lol
But in all seriousness any country knows that when this happens it is impossible to not accept aid from foreign countries.
I just watched the news while eating tea, and saw that the confirmed dead/missing list is at 27,000 people - at the minimum.
I find this disturbing, that people can see this, and then once the news is finished, go about as if it had never happened.
just a 'bad' movie or something.
I cant get my mind off of this, i mean 27k people just gone...
Gone. Forever, thier friends, family, children, relatives. Just gone.
I saw one person saying that they had given up hope of finding thier wife, so they started to find a way back in to the capital.
Then i saw an old man who said he would not stop searching until he found his sister...
:(
Trust me, reaing this isn't the same as watching him saying it.
I mean damn people, wtf can we do.
Cant we donate all premium payments for this month or something?
Something more than watching videos on youtube, and then discussing it, then shutting it out.
I have donated to a charity for Japan Relief, and once I get my PSN card will be buying the new Help Japan themes from the PS Store.
I think it is a great idea by SONY personally, as 100%, yes 100%, will be given to Japan.
Idk people, just needed to let out some steam, this really fukin sucks.
I dont know what else to say but it fukkin sucks!
Wish i cold get tere too help, anyway i could.
Please comment I wantto know how you guys feel.....
