That's pretty much what i was going to ask...

Do we know if this will effect the rocks? I hope this isnt a sort of "Lets brush it under the carpet (quite literally) and hope that if anything bad happens we wont be around to be accountable" idea...

Bro rocks play no role in our life. SOME organisms need them as their habitat and it's not like were actually destroying the rocks.
