Post: Microsoft admit using the Japanese Earthquake as a marketing technique was wrong

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Yesterday Microsoft decided to raise money for the victims of the Japanese Earthquake, which is a nice idea. However, when you turn it into a potential marketing technique to raise the awareness of a service (Bing) it somewhat ruins the original thought. The original tweet was:

Thankfully (in a sense) the tweet only ended up with 100-200 retweets and Microsoft quickly realised they had made a mistake and tweeted the following:

You must login or register to view this content.

It was a nice gesture to give $100k to the relief efforts but a little more care in the future is definitely needed when dealing with such sensitive topics.

Tbh i don't think this is such a big deal , i mean they are donating money . They are doing a good thing but they could have been a bit more careful on how they phrased they Tweet . Good find tho Winky Winky
