St. Patrick's day is on the 17th of march ever year on this day we celebrate all of his spreading of christianity in Ireland this day also marks they day he died.
If any fact's are wrong please inform me.
[multipage=How did Patrick find Ireland]
Patrick was kidnapped in Wales and was brought to Ireland as a slave and was forced to work for 6 years in the north of Ireland.
He was kidnapped when he was only 16 and was not very close to god and did not care much about religion but this dramatic event changed his view of god in the first year he was kidnapped he gradually began to pray more in search of an asperation from god (St. Patrick heard a voice telling him to walk to the Coast where he would find a boat willing him to take him back to Wales) he prayed up to 100 times a day and eventually got that vision he found a way to escape and went back to Wales and found his home town.
[multipage=Becoming a priest]
After his 6 years of non stop praying to god he became very religious and became a priest. He was then annointed a bishop by the pope this is a very important part of his life if he came to Ireland only a priest he wouldn't have the power to annoint people priests but as a bishop he would.
[multipage=Where he preached]
Patrick's views were to get king's and leaders to become christian rather then start at the bottom because the high king's would make the bottom class people convert back to protestant so Patrick had to think up a way to get them to convert to christianity
[multipage=His trick.]
Hill of Slane in Co. Meath. Situated within the line of vision of Tara - the seat of the High Kings of Meath - St. Patrick choose this place to burn the light of Christianity in 433 AD. It was the eve of Easter and coincidentally the pagan Feast of Beltane and the Spring Equinox. St. Patrick knew that King Laeghaire would be at Tara to celebrate Beltane. In direct defiance to the law that no fire should be lit in the vicinity of the great festival fire at Tara, St. Patrick lit a bonfire on the Hill of Slane to welcome the light of Christianity. King Laeghaire drove his chariot in anger to the Hill of Slane to arrest this rebel but St. Patrick turned into a dear to hide against the druid's and kings this showed them his god's power was stronger then theirs the high king didn't convert to christianity but allowed St. Patrick to preech in Ireland.
[multipage=The Holy Trinity]Nobody could explain the trinity except Patrick he used the 3 leaves of a shamrock on the left the holy spirit on the right side of god Jesus and in the middle god
[multipage=Fiction]If you read the whole thing you may be saying it's fake because he transformed into a deer this obviosly didn't happen nobody knows how he defeated the druids so to make it more entertaining told the story like this.
Also when you hear St Patrick banished the snakes from Ireland this is symbolising him kicking the druids and paganism out of Ireland as the druids symbol was a snake.
[multipage=Conclusion]St Patrick's day is a major event worldwide you may think its all beer and celebrating but there is a holy side to it also lots of events are played on the day like parade's G.A.A hurling and lots of others.
I hope you enjoyed reading this I typed it all up myself.
Thanks
