(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); In 17 minutes (9:07GMT) the moon will be the closest it has been to earth in a while.

Just wondering if anyone can see it "bigger" - its cloudy here :FU:

Please let us know if you survive its passing, with all the earthquake crap on the internet about it. Winky Winky

I hope people realize I'm being sarcastic here.
Nothing is going to happen but a slightly bigger moon.

It is clear here on the east coast of US.
Hoping for a good view at moonrise 7.31 pm EST
Full moon here was yesterday and it is supposed to pass within 356,000 miles.
Hoping for a moon illusion and have the camera ready, Even though it is not supposed to capture one on film.

Actually there very well could be earthquakes because the moon is closer and somehow it has more pull on the earth.... I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a few strong earthquakes today. i am not saying it will happen, just that it could happen.

That is extremely unlikely and would be purely coincidence.
The moons gravitational pull will only effect some high tides.
It can not effect Tectonic plate movement or volcanic activity,
It comes this close every 18 yrs and has been doing so for over 4 billion yrs., why would this time be any different?
