(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); As simple as that. Do you think it is time that Church and State are treated separately? For me it is a yes anytime. It should not be together ever, and when you are in the government you should not quote from the Bible Winky Winky

They already are for the most part. Separation of church and state is part of the constitution.

I disagree some. On our dollar bills we have "In God we trust", in our pledge we have "Under God". Some government officials actually quote from the Bible. We have so many religious qualities in our society, specifically related to the Bible.

Not being American, obviously I'm not expert. However, weren't the both of those things added much later on. I'm almost certain that it's in the constitution that religion is to be kept separate from state.

It really does amuse me how selective people are with the constitution. Sure ignore the part about religion, but when it says you can have a gun... Oh, now it matters huh? Most of the founding fathers weren't even Christian! To have the cheek to but that on your currency is unbelievable. I bet they're turning in their graves. Jefferson even rewrote the bible. It's called The Life and Teaching of Jesus of Nazareth. Basically he took out all the parts about Jesus claiming to be the son of God and the "miracles"... Says it all really.

- Benjamin Franklin
- George Washington
- Thomas Jefferson
- John Adams
- Thomas Paine
- Abraham Lincoln
- James Madison

Most of the founding fathers (there were more than these), were deists or atheists. You must remember they were men of the Enlightenment more so than Christianity.

Its been part of the history and culture that church and state go hand in hand.
They say that guidelines for law were first taken from religion

In our constitution church and state are meant to be held separate. In fact, most of the founding fathers were Deists.
