It all started back in the 1950s by... Coca cola !

They needed a new sales pitch so used santa clause and changed is colours to red and white to match coca colas product.



It was based on st. Nicholas who have presents to poor children one day a year.

Coca cola used this and created the jolly red man we know today.

It grew and soon the whole world knew santa to be red and green santa was forgotten
