I'm sure a great deal of you have heard about e-cigs before. You may even remember me talking about them when I used them back in 2009. I've been getting really sick of buying regular cigarettes (or analogs, as we vapers call them) and decided to look into e-cigs again. Back when I used them, they were a fairly new concept, and designs were poor. So I go on the forum that I went on when I used them, and find out that there are tons of newer and better models, and even DIY mods that you can make. These new designs and mods are much more powerful, they last longer and provide a better emulation to real cigarettes than the old designs of e-cigs. I'm going to give you some examples of them shortly, but first I'd like to explain what these are for the noobs.

Electronic Cigarettes are a device that is essentially what you would call a "vaporizer". The components of a basic e-cig, or ENI (electronic nicotine inhaler) is as follows:

A Battery. An Atomizer. and A Cartridge or Cartomizer.

The battery, is just that, a battery. The earlier models used small batteries that would die fairly quickly. The expected life span of one was about 2-3 hours. They were rechargeable though, so it was somewhat ok.

The Atomizer is the thing that makes the vapor. These parts have a coil that heats up, which vaporizes the "e-liquid", which you then inhale (or not).

A cartridge is just a mouth piece, but they have a form of melt proof wool-like material inside them that you soak with e-liquid.

Cartomizers are just atomizers that have built in cartridges, as you might have assumed.

Now, the E-liquid. This is what makes ENI's great. The liquid is comprised of three basic ingredients:

A nicotine base, usually 60mg. A dilutant, which can be vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol. And last is flavoring.

These provide for a mix that not only gets you your nicotine fix, but tastes great AND is extremely more healthy than regular cigarettes. The reason being, the only thing you are inhaling is nicotine, which isn't much worse than caffeine. The vapor that you blow out is actually just water vapor, so it's not harmful to the environment. And if you're one of the saps that believe "second hand smoke" is harmful to people, you have nothing to worry about, because it's water vapor. (I have extensive knowledge on this subject so if you feel like being shut down in an argument about it, please pm me Smile )

ANYWAYS, that's what e-cigs are. Now let me show you some examples of the older models of e-cigs, and some of the newer mods and designs:

This is an example of one of the older designs. A simple battery, atomizer, cartridge design:

Like I said, these weren't bad, but they died very often and didn't really emulate smoking too well.

I know it's a link, but I couldn't find images that would let me copy and was too lazy to upload a snapshot to photobucket. I figure if you've read this far, you can look at a website.

NOW. The newer MODS. These are what's hot in e-cigs right now

[ame=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nKbOmOi7-o]YouTube - Playing with Missy's Wet Box Until my fingers get sticky[/ame]

[ame=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVDnyOA05GU]YouTube - PROVARI E-CIG - VAPOUR Vs VOLTAGE DEMO[/ame]

SO basically.. I posted this thread to let people know that there have been some real advancements in e-cig products. There are still different techniques that different people do to get more vapor, strong throat hits, etc.. but the point is this is the future of being addicted to nicotine. These things are waaayy better than regular cigarettes, in MANY aspects. They may be expensive, but look at how expensive cigarettes are. You spend a lot initially, but it pays for itself in the long run.

Now, this is not advertising as the forum I'm about to link is NOT a gaming forum. But just in case it gets deleted by a mod who's taking his job way too seriously, just pm me if you're interested and I'll give you the link there.

The forum is You must login or register to view this content.

There you will find EVERYTHING you need to know about these things. Everything from health issues and concerns, legality issues, and where to buy them. There are even step by step tutorials for making your own mod boxes. It's an awesome site if you're interested in e-cigs.

Yes exactly. Nicotine is a stimulant, just like caffeine. With everything else thats in cigarettes taken out, all you get is the nicotine. It's the equivalent of drinking a cup of coffee per se.

Wade, all that is true of regular cigarettes. However, is it not true about e-cigs. Many people, including scientists and physicians call e-cigs "healthy cigarettes". They are basically a healthy way to enjoy nicotine. Without all the other harmful elements like carcinogens and 1000's of other chemicals, the only thing your lungs are ingesting is nicotine.

They do no damage to your lungs, throat, teeth or anything basically. The only problems EVER found is that some people have been found to be alergic to the vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol, and those cases were mild.

Well, my point is that if you need these cigs, you have had to started with regular cigs, right? Your money goes down the drain with these, just because of the nicotine. You shouldn't simply even start =D

No necessarily, you don't need to have smoked previously to try these. Anyone can try them.

Cost wise, yes these are expensive. BUT, you buy these things ONCE. The only thing you need to re-stock on is the juice.

One small bottle of juice can last a person a MONTH, whereas a carton of cigarettes will last me and my gf about 7 days. Trust me, it's way less expensive in the long run.

This thread is about e-cigs though, not whether you should smoke at all or not. So, I understand your position but, let's stay on topic please. Thanks in advance.

Id try these but i dont think id like them very much. Like when you smoke a regaular cigarette you know its dont cause, well, theres nothing left to smoke! With these i feel like id just sit there smoking it all day till theres no nicoteen left in whatever holds it.

Besides, could these really come close to a nice delicious Newport? I think not Dancing
