Vin Diesel posted a video on his Facebook account this weekend where he was joined by Pitch Black writer/director David Twohy to discuss the upcoming third installment to the Riddick series. While I was a fan of Chronicle of Riddick's rich and complicated mythology, Diesal and Twohy promise that Riddick's third outing will be more in line with Pitch Black's level of hardcore violence and situational action - which is perfectly OK as well. To sum up a few of the finer points:
The film is going to be rated 'R' and they are dedicated to hitting that rating hard.
The third Riddick is a leaner, cheaper production than Chronicles and therefore a more intimate and intense story is practically mandated.
There will be hot chicks out to seduce Riddick.
