I won't be much of help ( sorry ) because I'm not a pro either, I'm still teaching myself how to play, but hopefully those who can play the guitar can help us

Well actually on topic,
1. Learn chords, thats what most songs are. I became a lot better when I learned a bunch of chords.
2. Don't just practice once a day for a long period of time, practice multiple times a day for short periods. Trust me, this helps you learn songs through repitition.
3. Don't be afraid to try harder songs, that's how you get better! I taught myself how to play by just looking up tabs and chords.

My question: I'm having trouble with barre chords (specifically the Bm barre chord), so are there any tips that helped you that can help me?

You need help on the full barre chords or the halfs(where you leave one fret open in the chord)?
