And it hit me in the eye smack centre it hurt alot, and im gettin a black+swollen eye

No.... You can definatly hit people. Lacrosse is a tougher sport. In football, when you get tackled, you get about a 30 second break. When you get leveled in lacrosse, you get your ass back up & go get the ball.
