Xbox updates are way faster. There is never downtime on Xbox. You can download games onto your Xbox so they run quicker. Live is much much better than PSN for the cheap price of $60 a year, hell $40 on Amazon. They get map packs sooner. The controller is more beast. The only thing you would really lose is PSN exclusives which there are quite a few very good ones.

I'd never go for the Xbox though. I've just grown up with PlayStation consoles and will (for the foreseeable future) be staying loyal to Sony, They've never let me down before.
This PSN down time is the 1st, but I mean even though I can't play Bad Company online I still have Single Player games to get through right!

Competing with your friends is a good reason to switch to Xbox, but I strongly believe that if you go down that track you will be settling for an inferior system.

Are you living in America? I think Xbox has huge marketing capability in America as it's an American console. It's still pretty popular where I live too, but hell my friends don't even play video games anymore! Guess I haven't quite grown up like them yet lol.
