According to an investors note (below), Nintendo will be releasing the newest console in 2012.
There will be a playable version at E3 this year, June 7, 2011. Of course, the multiple rumors surrounding the system are still floating around.
So, we’ll have to be content with those until Nintendo sets us straight.

The Wii has also been speculated to be discontinued soon. Although no reports have been confirmed by nintendo officials, Gamestops all over the country have not received shipments of new Wii consoles.

Well, it looks like Nintendo will be the first to enter the next generation in game console designs. Hopefully Microsoft and sony will not be far behind in releasing their Next-Gen consoles, but time can only tell.

I'm sorry guys, but with the wii's sales numbers compared to both xbox and ps3. The wii has currently outsold both corporations, both by 36 million consoles shipped worldwide.

They did have one year ahead in the rotation than xbox and ps3 though, seeing how it was released only one year before both consoles. But seriously one year release before both consoles selling 36million units??

I remember when there was a time you could only find wii's on ebay they were sold out every where and on back order. I've never seen that with xbox or ps3.

don't believe me?

If anything Nintendo is not going anywhere but reigning supreme, there's a reason why they don't look at Microsoft or Sony as competitors anymore.

Thats release year. They had one year up on Sony and Microsoft. Dont get me wrong, Nintendo revolutionzed the gaming industry, but they did indeed lose touch with customers. Have them release on the same day as XBOX or Sony, their sales wont match

even ps3 came out a year after xbox did and look their numbers are matched.

nintendo is just winning and have been winning since the 80's. now their wii hd, probably won't make any money but w'e. they are really hard to beat with such a loyal fan base.

In Flames Much?
Interesting not shocked wii sales are slowing down big time.
Problem the game industry has is software sales
Easy way to fix that lower the price of games......if N do that and can release some good titles. They could in theory make alot more money then MS or sony can.
Turning the 80 million units into a gold mine with over 40% of users buying new games each month or something like that
