The American Red Cross is asking people to donate money to help the thousands of people left homeless by Wednesday's tornado's that ripped through the Deep South.
More than 2,700 people stayed in emergency shelters Wednesday night, and many more are expected to seek assistance from the Red Cross in the days ahead.
The charity provides hotel vouchers and purchases emergency supplies specifically needed in each disaster, so the most effective way to help victims is to donate cash.
