I like the older one better; just seems a little bit more 'chome'ish, as Clutch said, preschooler with pastels.

I like the newer google carnary edition one (the gold one). I think it's cleaner, nicer, and looks better on my desktop.

But, the old one is classic, and it's got that chrome finish
I remember the second Google posted their new logo on facebook, I made an exact replica as my emblem on Black Ops and everyone was bitching at me and telling me the Chrome logo looked nothing like that :FU:
