(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So with the PSN down now for what seems like an eternity I've been playing Xbox. Now, I'm indifferent when it comes to the "console war" and I thought I'd share some light for those PS3 users who have never experienced xbox and vice versa. Smile

Please note this not a fight. Your console is not better than someone else's however we can have an open discussion on the differences. We can share our favorite things on BOTH systems which hopefully will add some insight into someone thinking of making a change. :y:

They both have their pros and cons. They're both great systems. It's just what you started off playing or go used to more.

I have both consoles and like them for different things. But to keep it simple: I like Xbox because of its 'software' (and all the features) and just the way it looks and operates. It seems a lot faster then the PS3 and is a lot more smooth. I like PS3 for the exclusive games. PS3 exclusives are the best and (for me) Xbox just doesn't have anything I would really chose it over the PS3. But for any multi-platform games, I'd always go for the 360 version because they seem a lot more stable and less glitchy then the PS3 versions, as well as the multiplayer being better on the 360.

And this may sound weird, but I think Xbox is more stable then PS3 (console wise). I'm on my second PS3 and I think it may be dying from the same issue as my first PS3. I've had 2 Xboxs and both have worked fine throughout the time I've had it.

So, tl;dr, I'd chose 360 > PS3, but just barely. I still love the PS3 and spend all/most my time on it, but I have to admit that the 360 is a better console.

Here is my unorganized, random story of opinions and such on this... (lol)

I had Xbox for 2 years until mine broke before this Christmas when I got a PS3. :FU: I loved my Xbox the whole time I had it and I like my PS3 now too. I like both consoles.

One feature I definitely miss is cross game/party chat on Xbox. I'd be happy to see Sony put that in. The other issue is I hardly know anyone that has a PS3, all my real life friends are on Xbox. On PS3 I play CoD and other games alone for the most part :fa:, partly because I have TB PX21s as my only headset and I hate them. I miss using my TB X4s on Xbox and being able to chat. :(

The few times I've used a friends Xbox in the recent months without one I realized how massive and heavy the Xbox controller is. I like the small size and weight of the PS3 controller, and the fact that is comes without batteries and you just charge it. I did have a play and charge kit for Xbox though. :p

Free online is definitely a plus for PS3 too. :y:

I also think PS3 has the better exclusives, but I'm not even interested in them. I have Uncharted 2 and Gran Turismo and they have amazing graphics, as does Killzone 3, I've played the beta. I also know that the PS3 has it's blue ray drive which allows for much bigger games which is a plus for that side too, but as I said I'm not huge on those games I could care less about them. Halo is the only exclusive I've ever loved. (and that's just a personal opinion, some people hate Halo, but I don't)

All I have to say is, I think it comes down to who you know and what system they have. It's all preference. I think if I had a working Xbox again I would play it more than PS3, just because all my friends play it and the games I care for are multi-platform, so Xbox does me just fine.

Crumpets and tea?
I think two of the arguments against the xbox 360 are somewhat invalid.
These discussions always come down to 3 arguments
- Sales figures
- the xbox having hardware problems
- Xbox gamers having to pay to play online.

Now the 2nd too are invalid.
When the xbox was released the 1st generation consoles were prone to RROD. Years later the new models of xbox's rarely suffer this problem so that argument is kind of dead.

Also the argument in which PS3 users use against xbox users regarding paying for online gaming is a bit stupid too. Just think of it this way I have to pay £40 per year to play online. Now if you divide £40 by 365 it works out to be under 10p a day. I don't see how thats a problem.

Great way to put it into perspective.

Might add that PS3 has had it's share of hardware problems with YLOD. There were less YLOD consoles because Sony's total units sold were signficantly less (at the time) comparing to 360. I'd be curious to see percentage of bad hardware for both consoles.

I chalk that all up to growth pains and "wear and tear." Broken and malfunctioning hardware is something we have to live with in a technology age. Am I right?

I love my xbox. I had my ps3 for years prior, and as soon as I got an xbox I was hooked.
