(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); As everyone guessed it the MVP of the season went to no other then Derrick Rose. With him receiving this great honor, it makes him the second youngest player in sports history to be MVP and the youngest in the NBA. Rose had a total of 1,182 points in the regular season. Playoffs not yet added in. Rose averaged 25 points, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. This ended LeBron's two year streak of being MVP.

The runners up are as followed:
2nd. Dwight Howard
3rd. LeBron James
4th. Kobe Bryant
5th. Kevin Durant

Rookie of the Year went to non other then Blake Griffin. Blake Griffin was the fourth person in NBA history to receive this award after not playing the year he was drafted in. Griffin was drafted in the 2009-10 season but he did not play due to a pre-season injury. After having an average of 22.5 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game he deserved this award. He was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month six times this season. He was also the first rookie to play in the all-star game and win the dunk contest since Yao Ming in 2003.

How exactly is Lebron being 3rd a shock? He has put up amazing numbers this year even though he has been sharing a lot of minutes with Wade. He also has off games because he steps back and lets Wade/Bosh take over.

Kevin Durant being 4th is very well deserved also, he is the reason the Thunder are in the playoffs. He puts up constant Double Doubles, and 30+ games. The thunder are going to be making it to the finals in the west or the NBA finals every year starting this year, or the year after this. The Lakers are OLD and DONE, the Spurs are OLD and DONE, the Mavs are coming upon their last couple years before they start getting OLD.

If anything its Kobe who didn't deserve it, his team carried him even more this year then in the past.

Actually I never said that that was a shock "None of these are shocks at all other then Howard at 2" the way I thought it should have gone was
1. Rose
2. James
3. Durant
4. Howard
5. Bryant

but this is all over now and it is what it is all that matters now is that the right guy won the award.
