For what I know she is a shy girl and doesnt talk to much, especially to boys . If your gonna try the facebook chat thing an idea to start the convo would be to say something which happened in class. For example:
Hey did you see how funny the teacher looked today or something like that
Next just be like oh how are you then, then you have just started a conversation :y:
Then you could talk about school or something if your stuck for ideas
