Ok there have been a few threads about animal cruelty and I've been hearing about this subject a lot recently. I even watched a movie today called Food Inc.. This movie shocked me completely. The point of this thread is to stir up a discussion to show me what you anti-animal cruelty people would say is an acceptable way to kill animals. If there are so many people against animal cruelty, how could you eat any kind of animal knowing what they have to go through. I have included a few video clips of chickens that you guys would enjoy.
This is how most of the chicken we eat grow up.
This is the way lucky chickens live their entire life.
This is the "humane" way chickens are being killed. (@2:15)
Seriously, you people against animal cruelty, do you not think this is cruel? What is the humane way to kill these animals?
Tear tear, at the end of the day 99 percent of the people who read this and go 'Thats ****ed up I will never eat chicken' are going to shove it down their gullets because it tastes so god damn awesome
Chickens would be extinct without humans. So what if we are slicing their heads off to consume them all over the country if we didnt they wouldnt even exist right now. Not to mention when we were a hunting and gathering animals im sure this is way less painful than what a hunted animal felt being killed. Plus its not like you have to eat it everyone makes choices for themselves.
This is indeed cruel, in terms of being a chicken.
But this is just part of the food chain.
We're like any other animals, eating to survive. It's just that we, as humans, have evolved in intelligence to the point where we've deeply thought about how and what we eat.
Although I don't have a say in this as I'm a meat lover-and I'm fully aware of inhumane animal slaughter-, that chicken's expression in the last video shows that animals do have feelings. You must login or register to view this content.
No matter how much people "stand up" against this, we will always eat these foods. I bet after watching this, many of us ate something related to an animal, even though we speak out and say, "It's wrong. We need to stop." I think it's a bandwagon thing, because nobody wants to stand up and say what they think.
I'm saying what I feel:
I eat what I want, no matter how it happens. And most of us feel the same. I will continue to eat chicken, beef, and pork. And so will 99% of us.
