This is just a thread I decided to make because I love sports (especially football) and I just thought all you people who aren't from england should gain a little knowledge on the barclays premier league
All 20 teams are in the multi-pages to the right, I'll give you some interesting facts about them, link you to their wikipedia page and give you my view on them, do not take my view personally, I am a liverpool fan
This thread took me 3 hours and 24 minutes (timed myself :p) show your appreciation by telling me what you think of it by replying to this thread!
If you aren't from Europe and do not know what competitions the various honours are for, click the 2nd multi-page to see what the cups are for.

[multipage=The competitions - Explanation]
The league
The league represents 2 competitions, Division 1, which existed since the beginning of football, this was the highest league there was and only the best of the best teams were in it.
The barclays premier league:
this was established after the football season that ended in may 1991, it is currently sponsered by barclays bank and as I said, the best teams in the UK play in it.
Carling cup
This is know as the "League cup" but is completely different to the "league" above. All teams from league 2 - Premier league enter this competition, it is the smallest competition in the UK, but still means a lot to win. It is currently sponsored by Carling.

FA Cup
Besides the premier league, this is probably the biggest cup in the UK, again, all teams from league 2- the premier league are entered, the final is played at Wembly stadium as it is for the Carling cup. The winner of this cup (if they already have not) qualifies for the Europa league, or uefa cup.

Uefa Champions League
This is the biggest and the best cup in Europe to win, the best four teams of every league in Europe compete to win this cup, it is one of the best cups to win and is a real challenge for every team, the winner of this cup gets entered into the Uefa super cup to play the winner of the europa league (uefa cup).

Europa League (Uefa cup)
The team which finishes 5th in the Barclays premier league qualifies for the europa league, it is for all the teams which just miss out for the top 4 in their league, this is a very good cup to win and the winner qualifies for the champions league the following season.
