Alright, now that is out of the way, lets talk about recording softwares, that are in my opinion, the best to use, and the best quality.
Recording Software
-
FRAPS
Fraps is possibly the best PC game recorder out there. It has many features and keeps a steady FPS and amazing quality. Remember, this is only used for games, not a screen recorder.
Free Trial- No. Don't use it.
Premium- Get a cracked version. Check my sig.
-
Snaggit 10
Snaggit, is one of the more unknown screen recorders, and there is a reason for it. It is not the best out there, Camtasia completely out classes it. It has it's upsides though, the fact that it is free, good quality and recording. Easy to use editor also. I believe their is a premium, haven't tested it though.
Free Trial-Great, use it. Don't waste your money on premium.
Premium- If you really want it, just get a cracked version.

Camtasia
Ahh, the great Camtasia is back and better then ever. Full HD quality, complete editor and flexible features makes this the best screen recorder out there. I highly recomend this.
Free Trial- Great, premium is way better though.
Premium- Buy it if you have the money, if not, just get cracked.
Editing Software
There are many different software out there that promise you the best quality, flexible features and being free. Sadly, thats not it. These two softwares are the best in the business.

Sony Vegas Pro 10
Sony Vegas is considered the most professional editor out there for aspiring movie makers such as yourself. It has a versitile system with many features that are easy to use and good for beginners. It's quality is spot on. The only downside is that you have to trade off the .AVI as a five minute file would be about 30gigs worth. Highly recomended.

Camtasia Studio 7
Camtasia is one of my favourites as it is simple yet on par with Sony Vegas in quality and rendering times. This is usually for people who just want to put out high quality videos with little effects. That is also one of the downsides of this program, there is a very limited editing features. Although it can pump out HD no problem.
