(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); In this thread, I am in no way saying police officers are stupid. I am graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in about a week. Because our economy is so horrible right now, the only people that are hiring in my field are police departments. To become a police officer, you must take a written test, a physical abilities test, a psychological exam, a background investigations, an oral interview, and if you manage to pass all the previous, you will be hired and you will have to complete a few months in the academy. The written test is a ****ing joke. In the spoiler, I will provide the sample test questions of this written test. If you are in decent shape, and can pass this test, you have what it takes to become a police officer in California. Good Luck!

REASONING

Instructions: Look at the problems below. First, read the list of facts. After you have read all of the facts, look at each conclusion. From the facts, you can tell that some of the conclusions are definitely true, some are definitely false, or that it is impossible to tell from the facts whether or not a conclusion is definitely true or definitely false. In order for an answer to be "definitely true," it has to be the only answer that would make that statement true
(i.e., there can be no other answer that would make that statement true.)

If a conclusion is definitely true, mark answer (a)
If a conclusion is definitely false, mark answer (b)
If the facts do not give enough information to determine whether a conclusion is definitely true or definitely false, mark answer (c).

Facts,
John is older than Charles
Charles is younger than James

Conclusions:

1. John is older than James
A)
B)
C)

2. Charles is younger than John
A)
B)
C)

3. James is younger than Charles
A)
B)
C)

But if you think about the test, how does it affect you physically? Thought they would give you training, like cardio, stamina and strenght?

The written test if for intelligence. The training all comes in the academy. After completing the academy, we will be able to run at least 5 miles in under 10 minutes a mile.

Every LAPD officer I spoke with said the written part of the test is to make sure you can think logically but it is a joke. If anyone fails it, they don't deserve to be a police officer.
