Being Entertained

Today I'm going to go over a couple of way to be entertained. Being entertained; there's many ways to being entertained whether you're watching Television or playing games, either way you're being entertained, even if you're bored you'll end up doing something that'll keep you busy, interested or entertained. Regardless of the boredom you maybe in; there's many ways to be entertained, movies, films, games, catroons, music, etc; it's endless. There's however many that you do a day that keep you entertained, yet you don't realize that you're being entertained as you don't think of it at the time. I'm going to go around the ways of entertainment and describe the high's/lows and much more to it with the help of other site's by doing research and personal knowledge by me sharing this hopefully you'll learn something new, due to the research I've carried out and have learned and by sharing it it'll be beneficial to the community. Let's not wait any longer and let's get straight to the point and start giving the community information.

The definition of the word Entertainment is the following:

"The action of providing or being provided with amusement or enjoyment."

You either enjoy something or be interested in something, for example a performance.

Television

Television has a lot more than just entertainment, it's got informative stuff, persuasive stuff and a lot more enjoyable content, and somethings that you may not like or care about, regardless of what others think. Television is really important for the world to view things without having to do much, other than owning a TV, it's really that simple excluding the bills. It does matter in a sense on how many channels you have, the more channels you have the more variety you have meaning you can possibly watch stuff at a wider range that you enjoy; as the more channels the more stuff to watch. Watching Television is entertaining as there's atleast one thing you'll find entertaining, whether that's news, comedy, soap opera's, etc. Soap opera's have cliff hanger's making you stay tuned in on a daily basis/weekly basis keeping you entertained, whether that's the storyline, people involved for example, celebrities staying in one house together and setting cameras in there just to make you watch it as you're aware of the people that are there as afterall they're celebrities.

Television may be time-consuming as you may waste a lot of time watching TV instead of other things you do, you're being entertained by something that you like and want to keep watching as you're interested in other words entertained. Television takes a lot of time from your life, as you constantly watch it, I've got statistics and averages that'll be listed below, they're actually surprising, but Televisions are there for a reason you may say, but do we over do it? I personally for one, over do-it there's no doubting that; it's not only peer pressure that other's watch it, but also for my personal and very own enjoyment. Now let's see the statistics.

FAMILY LIFE


Percentage of households that possess at least one television: 99
Number of TV sets in the average U.S. household: 2.24
Percentage of U.S. homes with three or more TV sets: 66
Number of hours per day that TV is on in an average U.S. home: 6 hours, 47 minutes
Percentage of Americans that regularly watch television while eating dinner: 66

Percentage of Americans who pay for cable TV: 56
Number of videos rented daily in the U.S.: 6 million

This is not very surprising amount, this is just in the United States, I'm going to find one for the UK and one globally, not forgetting others. However sticking with the current information we have, 6 hours 47 minutes daily per average house hold - That's one quarter of a day that we spend on average. Like I said it may be surprising but to me, it isn't. We like to watch TV and like watching it for our own benefits and enjoyment, not only that but stay tuned into news to see what's going on around the world, so we're aware. 99% of the people in America have TV's, in this day and age the majority has TV's; everyone needs them, regardless of them thinking they're alright with Radio or Internet, as ultimately the majority use the Television to watch stuff, not forgetting Internet, you can view it on the Internet but that's optional as you decide on what you prefer, not forgetting Internet is also a great way to communicate for news needs, etc. Television has a variety of different shows available for peoples different tastes as other's like something, and other's done so they have a variety of shows to watch on television (If someone wants me to add more to this and have got something they want me to add it for them, just message me.). Now moving on to Music.

Movies

Movies are entertaining, they bring you the thrilling story-lines, amazing actors and a genre that you like. Movies are for just about anyone, grab some popcorn and a drink and your on your way. Movies have good effects, at a small fee you can watch something new for a change that other's have watched causing discussion regarding the movie. They insist of celebrities to make the movie get more views, however that's not always the case. Everyone in their lifetime should've watched around 10 movies if anything that they've enjoyed in my opinion; there's many movies to watch and choose from. Music Industry

Television's not the only way to entertainment although it has music channels so you can listen to music on the television without having to download songs onto your iPod and listening to them at home, but Music is a great way to entertainment. Everyone has their tastes in what type of music they like, but the amount of people that listen to music is substantial, but not surprising. I'm sure everyone's had a taste of music and know what they like and don't like; from signers to rappers. There's just about everything in music, with messages, rhythm and most importantly the lyrics; lyrics is pretty important, without good lyrics people; people don't intend to know what the song's about, the message behind it the reasoning. There's many people that have made it far in the music industry and need to be recognized as they've helped made music what it is today; people like Micheal Jackson, Eminem, etc. These are they guys that have built the music industry in this generation further and further not forgetting those who've died people such as Pac, Biggie, etc. There's many up's and downs in the music industry, although everyone wants to become famous there's more responsibilities you're out there to make a name for yourself. There's mass amount of people that listen to music daily and I don't blame them; it helps me relax, takes their mind of everything and just makes things feel better, the lyrics are good, the signer/rapper has some serious talent, etc; these are just some of many, many, many reasons we listen to music. We intend to judge on people's music aswell, if you don't like one of Eminem's song people intend to say it's rubbish, but not thinking about the amount of work they've put into making the song for us guys, how he's thought long and hard about his lyrics, I'm not saying people say Eminem's music's rubbish, however I'm using it as an example. There's emotional songs, there's love songs, there's many, many different types, just like Television everyone has their own taste and I'm sure there's something out there in the Music Industry that you like, I'm sure it's safe to say that due to the amount of people that listen to music. Everyday there's new people that enter the music industry and there's still the veterans, the people that enter; have a chance but a slim one to make it far depending on their talents, it's all about the number of hit's they receive and the amount of albums they sell. The more they sell obviously the more they're getting reconsigned and the more money their making, helping them with their music life. However it's not about just spending £10 on a music album, the money doesn't matter to you - the music's got to be quality.

Books

Books, well are books. They are entertaining to some, but for me I don't find them much entertaining although there's some that are full of fantasy and imagination and some that are right down to the simple facts and key aspects. There's not much to say about books as far being in the Entertainment sector but I think there's some that really benefit from reading books as they find out new things and explore into different contents, looking to find something interesting, building their knowledge. Books are written by authors just to make you read something, read something that you may find enjoyable. The authors let their imagination loose. However getting your pen to paper isn't always the easiest thing to do considering you need to think of what you're going to write and thinking of how many books are already written and released, you have to make sure it's unique and original causing much, much problems as it get's harder and harder.
