I'm sorry, I have to disagree. Alcohol is more addictive than most drugs, it causes unpredictable mood swings often resulting in violence and it causes irreversible deadly diseases such as Cirrhosis of the Liver. More people die to alcohol abuse than any other drug, and that includes Nicotine. The amount of violent crime cause by Alcohol is also considerably higher than any other drug and it's addictive qualities are so strong, stronger than all but the most powerful opiates such as Heroine, that alcoholics still feel withdrawal and cravings DECADES after they've quit drinking. Ecstacy, Marijuana, LSD, Cocaine, Psilocin (Magic Mushrooms), Thujone (Absinthe), Mescaline (Peyote), STP and Phenethylamines (Nexus, Infinity etc.) are all less harmful and less addictive. Just because the law and political campaigners make out as though Alcohol is the exception doesn't mean they're right. Far from it. There is actually excessive levels of misinformation on drugs and as a chemist, I find the laws on drugs baffling and rediculous.
Just so people are aware. I have in my lifetime tried Alcohol, LSD, Ecstacy and Thujone. The only one I enjoyed was Thujone in the forum of Absinthe (which is actually legal in UK although not in mainland Europe or USA, all USA absinthe has the Thujone removed and just puts excessive amounts of Alcohol in it to "make up for it". Any absinthe that's more than 40% is fake). I see little difference in any of those drugs and in both cases I was slipped LSD and Ecstacy without my knowledge. They both made me very ill, as did Alcohol for that matter. For this reason I am teetotal and have been for 6 years. (Yes, that's no drugs of any kind including alcohol).
