I thought it was funny and sad, but yea, only like a couple people in my theater caught it and reacted and started laughing. If you haven't seen the movie, then you're probably like :???:


In this one scene, some guy is making a speech to the young mutants, and he asks them to join or be "enslaved" by the humans, the camera instantly turns to the black guy, Darwin, for a good and hard couple of seconds. I mean, slavery and the black guy... could they have been anymore straightforward? xD Not to mention, out of all the mutants or whatever, the black guy is the first to die...shortly after the whole enslavement speech.

Anyone else note that?

I plan on seeing it today, but I think we're too sensitive about this type of thing now a days. I mean, eventually after a disagreement or fight we're able to put something behind us and laugh about it. They're simply making light of the past issue. People are being offended by a situation that happened long before their time, it affected people they'll never even meet. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally against all forms of slavery. It is and was one of the most in-humane and unjust abominations to the respect for human life we've ever witnessed. I just feel it's time for a new era. An era where we can poke fun at the past mistakes our forefathers made and befriend one another in the present, not holding grudges from the past.

It was distasteful to most, funny to others, somewhat a mixture of both for me. Either way, the movie wasn't all that amazing. It had SO many corny ass moments

That's funny. So, does the movie take place in '63, or 2011? That would decide the relevance of the joke.

In the 1940's... lol it's funny because they have all this technology and shit, but it's the 1940's haha

Yeah, back in that time it was the social norm to be racist. But it's still funny.
