One thing you can’t deny is that Sony has hit a pretty good price point for their upcoming PlayStation Vita. Since the official reveal and pricing the other day, gamers have wondered about the price of its games.

If we are to believe the pricing listed by GameStop on their official site, Vita games will be equally affordably priced. $39.99 for PS3 quality games is definitely a pricing sweet spot. This is not yet official be patient Awesome face

For a quick second I was excited but I misread the name, I thought it said the Vita was gonna be $40. I'm still down for $40 a game though, glad it isn't $60.

The following 3 users say thank you to 420 for this useful post:

Yea, Uncharted for $40 is legit, and the Vita isn't too expensive either. $300 for the 3G model is reasonable, I think. Although, I'm not sure if I should buy the first generation Vita because they always end up upgrading the models, with any electronic device, it always happens. iPods are a key example, and their constantly improving, so idk if I should buy the Vita when it first comes out or wait it out for some upgraded version of the thing.

You should. Most companies update there item about once a year. If you do buy the original, maybe it will be like nintendo and release one every few years. It doesn't matter, If you buy the original, and a new one comes out, GameStop almost always has a trade in deal (Example, trade in your Nintendo DSi for $100 off of the 3DS). It really does work.

No, not necessarily. If you think about it rationally and logically in the long run, this will get them much more sales. Since games aren't $60, they will get more people buying the console, more people buying the games, and in the long run, more overall money. If they're PS3 style and 1080p like they say, they will rake in the cash like it's leaves.

This was a smart move, because the prices are the same as 3DS.
