I hate when people ask me hard questions. Growing up as a child I was taught that god made the world in 7 days bla bla bla. I do not believe that, I believe in Dinosaurs and that we evolve from a "certain" type of animal..it may not be Apes, but I think it was a certain type of mammal and it eventually turned into human..if that makes sense?

I'm not a religious person, but I do believe in Hell.
For some reason I can't explain, I just believe that there is a higher power above us and after our current life we go to either heaven or hell afterwards. Where we go is based upon the higher power's judgement.
I'm not one of those crazy religious people that downs other people's beliefs, I respect all of them. Even if you don't believe in anything or believe in something, that doesn't change my attitude towards you.
They say there's an opposite to everything, which is why I like to believe there's a negative and positive after-life.
Just my 2 cents.

We didn't evolve from them, we both evolved from a common ancestor.

Why?
I think it falls on the beliefs of those that raised me. They didn't force their belief of God upon me, but I took on that belief as I questioned and learned from them.
That's another reason why I chose to believe (and still do believe) that there is a God and a after-life. That belief wasn't forced upon me, my parents allowed me to chose what I wanted to believe. I'm more inclined to listen to something if it isn't forced.
Simply, I believe it boils down to our experiences. Today I could be a believer, but tomorrow I could be an atheist. Some experiences in our lives can make enough of an impact to drastically change our ideals, and some experiences have little effect.
But, just like anything, we'll never really know until the end.
