Zrix quickly notes that the Battlefield 3 he played, was pre-alpha and that many things may change come BF3's release day (October 25, 2011.) He gave a very detailed map description (Rush Mode) explaining how the map started in a park like area of Paris and advanced inwards and underground, finally opening up into the city (Paris.) Also noted was the weapon setups for Battlefield 3's four classes.

It should also be noted that, "You must login or register to view this content." for weapons in Battlefield 3. In terms of movement, a bit of strafing while sprinting has been confirmed and will probably be a welcomed addition the franchise. When it comes to spawning in rush mode, you can either spawn at your teams base or on your squad leader, and squad leaders are chosen at random in pre-alpha. Will this feature change to a more BF2 style squad system, where individual players who wanted to be a SL could be one? We won't know until release.

And back to the command rose, a BF2 favorite. It was confirmed, somewhat, but not details were divulged entirely. Kevin O'Leary didn't know how the dev team would be handling the command rose in Battlefield 3, so it's probably fair to say that we will be getting something like a command rose.

Reviving dead enemies with defibrillators is back as well. However, it carries some differences from BF2's system. BF2's was a very quick and arcade style revive. Battlefield 3 is bringing the revive system to the more realistic side of game play. When revived, you start in the prone position, blurred vision, and have no weapon. After a moment, you're back in the action, but not with a 100% health, maybe 80 - 90%.

Reloading also has a welcomed change and one that realist style players will encourage. When a bullet is left in the chamber during reloads, you get a max clip +1. For example you reloaded when you have 16 of 30 bullets left in your magazine, you would end up with 31 ready-to-fire rounds after reloading. The reloading times in Battlefield 3 for this method are also shorter. Why? After you drain your gone completely of rounds and begin to reload, you not only reload, but have to chamber a new round. The animation takes just a second longer and shouldn't hinder game play. Speaking of animations, the prone movement is said to be a "Bit nicer movement animations than previous games."

Battlefield 3 mods also may have a life as well! Speaking about mods, Zrix said that the developers currently had no plans for producing community mod tools, but that they will look into it after Battlefield 3's release. A few months ago, mod tools were shot down and this is a welcomed comment by the developers. All the major PC releases of the series have supported mods, it would be very un-Battlefieldish for BF3 to not support mods.

We also have another event to look forwards to in terms of news and details. Battlefield 3 will apparently be at GamesCom (a German games convention) from August 17 - 21 later this year. This was one of the first and best community reviews for Battlefield 3 thus far, thanks Zrix!

In this video, Kevin O'Leary and another EA Games employee played a PS3 version of Battlefield 3, showing not only new menus, but a little more of the campaign, and how the game will feel, in they eyes of a noob.

A point of clarification for all of our Battlefield fans. We will unlock the contents of the Physical Warfare Pack to all Battlefield 3 players later this year – for free.

Those who don't pre-order Battlefield 3 will have to purchase Back to Karkand when it is released. Those who pre-order and those who purchase it will have access to the expansion on the same day. In terms of the Physical Warfare Pack, it will be released to the general public later this year. If you do pre-order BF3, you'll have the exclusive content until November/December until it's released to all Battlefield 3 players.

The show's website is pretty quick to have the full episode up on it's website. So we should be getting the full episode in the daytime on the 16th.

Update
Odd time formats have led to a lot of confusion. The episode was supposed to air on the 16th, which is technically the episode aired tonight. We are seeing Uncharted 3 and expecting Battlefield 3 tomorrow night.

Reddit has had a field day attacking the announcements for Battlefield 3's DLC and Physical Warfare Packs. It's already known that BF3 will have three times the amount of DLC as BC2. Pre-ordering BF3 will land you with a PWP for your country and attempt to give you an advantage over players who didn't pre-order Battlefield 3. This has caused a lot of confusion and anger within the community as well as in our Battlefield 3 forums.

To combat the confusion, EA released a series of Q&A's to help the community to better understand what to expect from PWP/DLC and Battlefield 3 in general.

EA wrote:
Q: Is the Physical Warfare Pack available in all regions, or just in the UK?
Q: It will be available worldwide at select retailers. It was first announced in the UK. Exact details for other countries and retailers will be announced at a later date.

Q: Will Physical Warfare Pack imbalance the game?
Q: The three exclusive items in the Physical Warfare Pack were specifically chosen not to be overpowered or imbalance or break the game in any way.

Q: Why do I want the Physical Warfare Pack?
Q: Owning these items will give you a more varied arsenal, but it will not give you a significant advantage on the battlefield.

Q: Is the Back to Karkand expansion pack exclusive to pre-orders?
Q: No. You can also buy it separately if you do not pre-order Battlefield 3. Back to Karkand will be available the exact same date after the launch of Battlefield 3 no matter if you pre-ordered or buy it separately.

Q: When will the Back to Karkand expansion pack be released?
Q: We have not yet announced the Back to Karkand expansion pack release date.

Q: How much does the Back to Karkand Expansion pack cost?
Q: We have not yet announced a price. However, it will be included in the Limited Edition at no extra charge.

Q: Do I have to choose between Back to Karkand and the Physical Warfare Pack as my pre-order bonus?
Q: No. There is no way you can pre-order Battlefield 3: Limited Edition and not end up with the Back to Karkand expansion pack at no extra charge. On top of this, select retailers all over the world will carry the Physical Warfare Pack. Exact details for other countries and retailers will be announced at a later date.

Q: Why do you offer pre-order bonus items?
Q: Because we believe in rewarding our core fanbase with special offers -- such as giving them the Back to Karkand expansion pack at no extra charge.

It's a smart move for EA to respond to the community quickly. After seeing what happened to MW2 and no dedicated servers for PC players, a massive boycott was staged and it was quite successful. PC game sales took a massive hit as people rushed to cancel their pre-orders of MW2. It's a clear warning for EA to fulfill the community's Battlefield 3 requests.

This morning, during an investor call, EA announced that Battlefield 3 will have three times as much DLC (DownLoadable Content)than it's predecessor, Bad Company 2. Bad Company 2's most notable DLC was the Vietnam pack released in late 2010. Battlefield 3's DLC was when the Back to Karkand expansion pack was announced shortly after the first Battlefield 3 trailer was released in February. The Back to Karkand expansion will include four maps from BF2, re-imagined on the powerful Frostbite 2 engine. No other content for Battlefield 3 has been announced thus far, but we can expect more maps, weapons, and features released shortly after release.

Bad Company 2 had seven packs overall, so we're expecting 21 packs of DLC to be released over Battlefield 3's lifetime. There's the possibility of content being offered on day one, seeing as Bad Company 2 did this. We may see more announcements for Battlefield 3 as E3 goes on until tomorrow.

Curse.com has helped Enterbf3 get the community's Battlefield 3 questions answered. A few days ago we asked you to submit your Battlefield 3 concerns and ideas to get them answered. Curse.com staff went ahead and interviewed Kevin O'Leary, EA's Product Manager. Here's what we received:

Q: What can we expect for PC requirements to run BF3?
A: We’d love to tell you, but we’re not quite ready to release minimum specs just yet. I can tell you that the specs will not be anything crazy or Crysis-like. More details to come.

Q: Will we see the command rose or something similar?
A: That’s a good question! We do offer a lot of set up and customization on the PC for people to decide how they want to play. I’m not exactly sure how we’ll be doing the command rose.

Q: Will there be a server browser for consoles?
A: There will not be a server browser for consoles. We just recently announced "battle log" which is PC based but it’s a really friendly community tool. It allows you to branch out with friends and set up and join private matches. It’s also great for E-Sports, if you’re playing competitively, because it’s going to work with MLG and ESL and all those partners. So you’ll be able to authenticate matches without having to take screenshots and all that kind of stuff because the data feed is going to be encrypted and secure and be sent to them.

Q: How many weapon customizations can be expected?
A: Thousands! Probably tens or hundreds of thousands. This is the biggest battlefield we’ve ever made so the customization is huge and open. There’s three slots on every weapon so you can clip things on like a flashlight or flash suppressor, tons and tons of things. Optics… I can’t even believe how many optics they’ve gotten into the game.

Q: Will there be day and night cycles in multiplayer and if so how will they work?
A: Not so much cycles, instead we have day and night maps.

Today also marks the last day of E3, a lot has been uncovered about BF3, and this is more to add to the list! Also revealed is that jets will not be available in TDM and Rush modes. The maps simply are not large enough for jets, the jets will be in Conquest though. We'll have more post E3 coverage of Battlefield 3 in the coming days.

Said to be one of the biggest, most inclusive shooters yet, Battlefield 3 is the eighth game of the franchise. They wanted a game that appealed to everyone, be it team player, lone wolf, PC or console players. The multiplayer action is being said to be a hell of a lot of fun even unpolished. Apparently there "giant" stages with lots of jets and armored vehicles. However, they also have the more tunneled stages like Paris.

Classes that everyone is so use to have been changed a bit:
Riflemen double as medics
Support class is now equipped with a light machinegun
Sniper is long-range and demolitions expert
Engineer is the master of disaster destroying and repairing vehicles

Other important changes:
Prone - you now have prone!
Revive - You can opt-out of revive. No more resting in the middle of a huge firefight and instantly dyeing.

There is also reportedly weapon attachments which allow you to adapt the classes to how you want to play, like a rifleman choosing a grenade launcher rather than advanced medical equipment. One thing that was made obvious was that suppressive fire is actually a part of the game. When sending a hail of bullets it not only gains you points, but also dims and shakes the screen of those affected.

Vehicles have also been tweaked out. They now generate a small amount of health when damaged, but in order to heal completely they need the assistance of an Engineer. They can also be immobilized right before destruction giving Engineers time to intervene and save it. This could be a nightmare and that is my personal opinion. It's said that it is to help alleviate rage that comes from one shot kills from a rocket. Take for instance a team that loads up in a humvee only to be blown sky high with one rocket.
