OK, this is officially weird. The video below takes place during an amateur match in Melbourne, during which a player was sent off. “Why”, you may ask? Well you see the player was sent off because he refused to remove his piercing….his genital piercing. Yes you read that correctly. Now a few questions spring to mind. 1) How did the referee know about the piercing? 2) Why did he take the player into the dressing room, did he need proof that such a piercing did in fact exist? 3) Is it legal to send someone off for failure to remove a genital piercing?
He's probably just going with the rule book.
The coach could know if someone on the team told him about it when they're in the dressing rooms.
If the guy told anyone on the team about it or if they found out because he told someone else, they could find out that way too.
The coach could have then notified the ref.
So they probably took him back so they could see if it was true or not in order to determine if he should be taken off or not.
