Microsoft-Sony.com links me to bing search microsoft-sony and Sony-Microsoft is not registered because it would at least pop up with the text index and my google chrome browser says Oops! Google Chrome could not find Sony-Microsoft.com /facepalm
I doubt it, monopolization is illegal (I think), and lets face it, Nintendo is hardly a huge competitor when it comes to console gaming :p.
Monopolization is illegal in the United States. There are laws in place to protect against that that were set up WAY back in the day. While a monopoly is a good business tactic for the company that is the monopoly it's bad for competing businesses. Better Business Bureau wouldn't and will not allow Microsoft and Sony to monopolize the gaming market even if they bought each other out, or Nintendo bought them out. They'd have to remain separate.
As for what it could mean, who says it's something to do with gaming?
Google+ is live now. What it's its to do with that, as well as computers, Smart TVs ( Wifi Enabled TV's, TV's with Apps, etc), Portable devices (Tablets, Phones), etc. Sony does more than just the ****ing Gaystation you know.

I was mainly thinking in console terms because of the way OP worded it, but you're right, it could be anything.

Actually you are completely wrong.
A domain has to be pointed to a server for web page to show up (Or a webhosting on the domains site). If it is just registered and no server attached it will display as a page that wont respond or resolve to an IP. Get your facts right before you '/facepalm'
