Celtic ex-footballer, John Hartson, was the target for abuse from a troll on twitter. The user "Catwomen23uk-" left a series of hateful messages on a picture of John and his son (who is terminally with cancer).

The messages included "How long has your dying Jordan got john hahahaha watp 1690".
and "Hey Fenian I hope your cancer comes back and also your girlfriend gets it and u both die from it leaving you kid with no parents."

The user then received a backlash of comments from twitter users to which he prompted that his account had been hacked.

I just think that is completely sick, insulting someone over their 11 year old son having cancer. We have some assholes here but nothing compared to that idiot. If you want to read more on this vile story then go here You must login or register to view this content.

Btw. I only call it soccer because I'm am very passionate about GAA and it's the only football for me. Winky Winky

Nobody in Ireland calls it soccer... and nobody calls Gaelic football, and GAA is an association not the name of the sport.

I call it soccer and I know a lot of other people that do too. I also call Gaelic football as do a lot of my friends. You do not represent the whole of Ireland so be quiet. It's the association of the sport, therefore, what I said is correct.

When the people who play the sport (professionally) and the media don't call it what you call it makes it incorrect.
