Celtic ex-footballer, John Hartson, was the target for abuse from a troll on twitter. The user "Catwomen23uk-" left a series of hateful messages on a picture of John and his son (who is terminally with cancer).

The messages included "How long has your dying Jordan got john hahahaha watp 1690".
and "Hey Fenian I hope your cancer comes back and also your girlfriend gets it and u both die from it leaving you kid with no parents."

The user then received a backlash of comments from twitter users to which he prompted that his account had been hacked.

I just think that is completely sick, insulting someone over their 11 year old son having cancer. We have some assholes here but nothing compared to that idiot. If you want to read more on this vile story then go here You must login or register to view this content.

What do you mean by "And this is news". It's newly received information about a recent event, therefore, it's news. Winky Winky

These assholes live all over the world, as the U.S. showed over the Japan earthquake.
Freedom of speech has it's downside, especially when so many can remain unknown now.
It is shameful to think a countryman can behave like that.

Great Job on the thread :y:

It's because people feel invincible behind a computer and think they can say/do anything and get away with it. It's people that are sad and have nothing better to do other than making someone feel like shit. Nothing new here really.

And 500

This just goes to show Americans aren't the only idiots like some of you may think. And celebrities get trolled and hated on all the time. I don't understand how this is news.

I agree entirely that american aren't the only idiots, there are many stupid people in the world. I think it's news because the user hated on a terminally sick child. I don't think that's an everyday occurrence.
