Well it wasn't just the fact a kid was taken but how the Portuguese police dealt with the situation. In the area the were multiple reports of children being abused but the police would not let the public be notified, they have some kind of secrecy law. They also wouldn't accept any help from other, more experienced countries, like Austria. There was a lot of crap that went on with this case and that why it's different to most cases.

It's been denied that it's not her. Well, hopefully she is still alive. Personally i think the truth will come out in about 4-8 years time when she is old enough to realize this, most people watch the news now and then and a story about maddie has been in the news at least once a month since her kidnapping.

Eventually the truth will unfold and she will be re-united, I just hope it's not like other cases where all they find is her decomposed remains. (I.E like poor Milly Dowler)
