From my personal opinion I'd say YES. The universe is so huge and there are so many planets we probably haven't even discovered yet. If there is the earth there must be some kind of ???? with an unknown species.

You do realize without religion we would still be primates. Although Religion is 'made-up', it gave people for thousands of years to believe in. People would go on to pray for water, land, wives, children etc. And out of a stroke of luck it would happen. Religion made us smarter, when we achieved enough knowledge people thought oppositely, this became Scientology. Now, Scientology didn't take full flight until around 1935. Because if your not dumb, you would of realized 99% of people in the 1930's believed in Religion. That 1% opposed to religion, starting a new path and creating technologies.
