Samuel Eto'o is playing for Anzhi Makhachkala in Dagestan. £1.458.333. Per month. £364.583. Per weekk. £52.083. Per day. £2.170. Per hour. £36.16. Per minute. 60p. Per Second. And for 6 of those days he's doing nothing and for the one day he does something its only for 90 minutes!
A regular British or American soldier works 7 days a week 24/7 and is risking there life and only earning around £267 a week in Phase 1 training, which rises to at least £17,265 a year depending on which Army job they do. Some roles get specialist pay, which can be worth at least an extra £19 per day.
There salary will increase annually as there career continues, regardless of promotion and extra responsibilities.
Within five years they could reach the rank of Sergeant and earn up to £32,756 a year where as Samuel Eto'o earns £1,749,999,6 a year and that would take The Sergeant more than 35000 years of his life to earn that kind of wage which is a sickening though thinking that he is fighting for his country nearly losing his life when a footballer is kicking a footbal around for 90 minutes getting paid them wages

So please quote me if you entirely agree that Soldiers should get paid more than footballers

R.I.P To All the fallen soldiers both American,British and all our other allies who lost there lives in war fighting for there country. :frown:

You're forgetting that soldiers are paid for by the state and footballers and other sportsman (on the whole) are paid for by the Private Sector, not using public money so I've never seen what the problem is. Paying soldiers the same salaries as footballers is not feasible obviously and would completely destroy economies, there'd end up being no welfare or health system because all the moneys being used overpaying soldiers :p.

Daddy's home.
I think though when you look at a soldiers pay to other Government paid sectors, their pay is by far one of the lowest. Look at Teachers. They sit in a warm classroom teaching all day and get shit loads, something like 22k+. Police, sure they have a hard job, sometimes, get paid 22k+. You get people who work in the job centre raking in money, AND they STILL want a pay rise or they go on strike. A soldier does that he'd be court marshalled and sent to prison. I don't think the OP is saying that Soldiers should be paid millions, I think it's more that they get paid peanuts compared to other peoples cushy jobs.

At the end of though, Soldiers know what could happen to them. If they think the pay is bad, then they shouldn't sign up to complain about it. I want to join the RAF Regiment. The pay is the same as someone in the Army, 17k. 17k isn't enough money to put your life on the line to help others, but my motive is to just help others and see the pay as a bonus, even though I wouldn't do it for free because I have to support my self and family.

If you want to be paid almost millions then you have to go into the private security sector. They get the big money and awesome tech.

Easter Egg!
So what? go tell this to the goverment. Soldiers are not asking for a pay rise, they do their job because they want to fight NOT because they wanna become rich
And footballers of course are gonna get paid millions, they join the biggest clubs in the world, what do you except?

You cannot compare wages of a footballer and a soldier..
