How would you like to charge your dying phone (or any other mobile electronic device) with your shoes?

Researches at InStep NanoPower have developed "an inexpensive simple high-power energy harvester capable of converting mechanical energy to electrical power" through one's shoes. "The mechanical energy is converted to electrical energy by a novel microfluidic device through the interaction of thousands of liquid microdroplets with a groundbreaking nanostructured substrate."

In lamens terms, energy for a mobile electronic device (cell phone, Nintendo DS, PSP, tablets, netbooks, etc. ) will be harvested through none other than the sweat that you produce and also through kinetic energy produced by walking. (I believe ) The "device", which can easily be implemented into footwear, is capable of producing up to 20 Watts of energy. Along with producing that energy, they have also developed "novel energy management system" which InStep NanoPower says will allow the energy to be directly utilized by common mobile devices such as smartphones and will not require connecting wires or modifying the mobile device. (I personally am not quite sure how this will be achieved. Possibly NFC capabilities will be incorporated?)

"In particular, the integrated Wi-Fi hot spot can act as a “middleman” between mobile devices and a wireless network. Such an arrangement dramatically reduces power consumption of wireless mobile devices and allows them to operate for much longer time without battery recharge."

Unfortunately, this device is only in "Alpha" stage and is far from real-world production. But when it does get into production, hopefully it'll let me watch a couple more Youtube videos, or send a handful of texts before my battery is depleted. :carling:

it all depends. i mean, hopefully most bugs or problems will be ironed out before production.

Fapping could produce electricity if you wrap your dick with a conductor metal,and connect it to an electric storage unit,but it wouldnt produce ennough to charge a phone,probly just 0.0001% lol
