Seriously. It's a lot of work, it requires time and patience, as well as trust on the side of the Admin so it takes a while before someone is usually considered for a moderator position, and in fact, asking for a moderator position makes you less likely to get it as people who ask are usually power-hungry people who just want to lord it over other members. Someone who's joined in Jan 2012 with less than 30 posts for example simply doesn't become a moderator. at least not without gaining a few hundred posts, a few months regular membership, and then premium membership, and a decent reputation (at least a few thousand rep points is probably needed) as well as simply being a well known member who's frequently online. But I'm sure you knew that. Generally the moderators will be picked privately by the Admin and Global Mods, they'll discuss it in the staff shoutbox/forum areas and decide there. Some positions you can apply for, but the Admin will announce when those positions are opening up such as Media Team and News Team positions. Again, these positions are a lot of work, probably more work than being a moderator actually, as you're either looking for news to report on and posting long articles, or you're making videos for the NGU youtube section and there's A LOT of competition for them.
